Bidrage med feedbackWe had arrived late in town and this was the place chosen for us by our agriturismo. The receptionist had recommended to us the pizza norma. My husband was hungry, so he ordered a second pizza with pesto and pistachio. We also got focaccio with sardines and a porcini pasta. Yes, this would be painful night. Essentially, we got three pizzas with a plate of pasta. The pasta was delicious, though I could've used more salt. The porcini was pointed out to be frozen, but that only goes to show the Italians commitment to quality. Imagine that in the US. Both pizza were larger Than the plates they were served on. The focaccio was a smaller pizza and not the thick bread that I got in northern italy. It was really salty with both the olives and the anchovy. Still very good. The filling was folded into the bread and cheese was laid out on top. Our total for the entire meal with water and cover was about 30euros...that would be the cost of one of the pizzas in the US. It was an amazing experience, and I'm tempted to return tomorrow, though I don't know how I could even finish our leftovers for tonight.
The ambiance was great overlooking the valley below. The food excellent typical home made cuisine. We had Pizzas and Pastas and they were delicious.
It's located just outside Sant'Alfio in the hills and you get a spectacular valley and sea view. The pizzas are huge and delicious, and you have a great choice. Lots of local people come eat here
Pizza molto buona; locale affollatissimo servizio veloce e molto preciso, organizzazione impeccabile. Sicuramente ritornerò per provare altri piatti a base di carne ;
We visit Minicucco several times a summer. The location is spectacular, perched on the flanks of Etna, with a commanding view of the Ionian Sea and coast. This is NOT a tourist spot. It is an authentic Sicilian establishment. Fantastic home cooked food. Wood fired pizzas that are incredibly delicious. Like any real Sicilian restaurant, dinner doesn't really get started until 8:30 but most Sicilians don't arrive until around 9:30. Sicilians enjoy dinner, they don't rush through it. So, if you are in a rush, don't go to an authentic Sicilian restaurant. Go hang out with other tourists somewhere else. The owner (proprietario) is a fantastic man (e un bel uomo) who we've gotten to know over the years just by coming to dinner. The atmosphere is relaxed, family centered, and the pace is nice and slow. Their local wine is the best deal, grown right on the slopes around the restaurant. Excellent value cultural experience.
