Bidrage med feedbackMy wife and I went and picked up some late lunch. She ordered the the shawarma plate and I got the shawarma sandwich. I'll be honest.... not super impressed. The sandwich is proportioned terribly with a mixed concoction of yogurt and veggies completelyoverwhelming the dried crunchy bits of meat that looked like they were scraped off the bottom of the meat spit and not thetender, juicy slices of meat I'm used to getting when I go to order a gyro or shawarma sandwich. Everyone was very nice and theyhave a great variety of goods you won't find at a Publix but I was underwhelmed with my sandwich and will be searching Googlefor something else to eat after I'm done submitting this review.
We had a great time eat beef plater, took an extra one home eat it today. delicious food we bought few different pastries and few items that were all good flavor.
The name said Oriental Market. I was in need of some soy sauce for my Chinese food. The Yelp reviews were favorable, although I will admit they were suspiciously free of soy sauce. But it was the only thing I found nearby that seemed even vaguely close. So I went, and sure enough, the place is all middle eastern food! So this big, broad guy appeared and welcomed me kindly to his store. He had the best attitude of any grocer I 've ever met. He was welcoming. Charming. And so I was apologetic. 'I know you probably don 't have this ... ' 'Please, ask away, anything I can do for you as a customer ' 'but do you have any soy sauce, being an oriental market and all? ' The poor chap was crestfallen. Alas, no, he did not. But, he brightened up, I can tell you how to get to the only one nearby. He rattled off an intimidating set of directions, but because I always forget directions the moment I hear them, I asked him for the name. 'Pekin restaurant, ' he said, letting the name go with a tinge of sadness. I could tell he felt that he was passing me, his valued customer and friend, to an institution that would probably not live up to my expectations. As a consolation prize I ordered some baklava. It was only $1.50 a piece, and was as delicious as any I have ever had. (I am enjoying the last of it as I write this. I went to the Pekin market. You will find my review of it elsewhere. But the experience I will never forget is the one I had here at Oriental Bakery. I guarantee I will come back, for the Baklava if nothing else. I received five-star treatment here, but I have to deduct one for it being the Oriental Market that, well, wasn 't actually one ... LOL.
This place is amazing. An authentic middle-eastern grocery store right in Brickell. As a Detroiter this place made me feel right at home! The owner said they have been there for 50 years! The food was great I highly recommend the shawarma and waraq 3inab.
I have Fl licence in food handling . I am a dog owner and lover but my dog is not in my kitchen while I'm cooking because dogs shed hair which in turn goes all over the place and in things such as your food which extremely unsanitary. For those people who bad mouth a business due to them not accepting your dog is against every food regulation legally speaking. I personally don't want to eat next to your dog. Sorry for hurting your feelings but there are many people with disabilities who get around alone without out a dog. It was once upon a time the only way to get around alone without a dog. As for my other degree which is in Psychology I would recommend that you seek help because your hurt stems from more than just a restaurant or store that didn't do what you wanted go get serious help cause a dog can only get you so far especially since they don't speak. LoL I love this store keep up the good clean environment that I like eating in don't change your policy it's not healthy for animals to be around it's a food hazard and unhealthy.
