On The Border. Well, do you really even need someone like me to write a review? I suppose you may really not know what On The Border even is, which would blow my mind, but I suppose that it's possible that someone would come into Texas or something and somehow end up in Mesquite Texas and then somehow end up on Google and then somehow be looking for some Tex-Mex to eat. So yeah. I guess it's possible.This On The Border has been here a long time, like more than 20 years, at least. It's seen its better days at the end of the 90's when the nearby AMC 30 was still new, but you gotta give them credit: they are the only survivor.What is now Cheddars was once Bennigan's. Across the street what was once Joes Crabshack is now a dirt pile. Next door what used to be a Johnny Carinos is now a Crab Place. Even the spot that is now Del Rio was originally a Hoffbreau Steaks...On The Border IS A SURVIVOR. The final original spot left.As for the food? The service? The decor? Fine. Fine. Fine. It's fine. You'll have a fine time. It's fine. Fine.

Very good food, excellent prices and very good service.

Love this place, Every Tuesday they have $2 Tacos that taste better than a lot of places charging more than $2 for a taco ..... The Chicken is boiled to perfection with cumin its very flavorfull with the beans and rice and nicely shreded lettuce this is a home run on Tuesday Nights. OHhhhhhh and the chips and salsa are just right, a lil spicy for some, but just the right kick.

The restaurant was filthy. The floors were sticky as well as the tables and menus. Luckily, since COVID, I travel with Lysol wipes and was able to wipe the table and menus. I was here about 2 weeks prior and there were open trash receptacles in the dining area, near the end of our table. I asked the server if he could move it and he did so but I was wondering why they were there in the 1st place. The food was really good and the service was good but the manager needs to work on the appearance of the establishment. That could deter patrons. I had to take my kid to the restroom and it was atrocious.....this is a huge no return for me and my party. It left me wondering about the condition of the kitchen
