Bidrage med feedbackI recommend this wonderful little restaurant. it is always quite busy so they may have to wait until a table and get their food, but the staff is attentive and the atmosphere is beautiful.
We were a week in merida and ate almost every meal. that was the highlight for us. simple, delicious and unpretentious. it felt as if it was dinner in someone's house instead of eating in a restaurant. I had a cheese, cauliflower and grashüpfer filled tortilla, which was roasted over coal. You should.
I come to Merida at least 4 times a year and stay in barrio de Santiago every time and visit Maiz at least a couple of times per trip. The food is always fresh, made to order and delicious, The staff are always friendly and...welcoming and prices are awesome. It’s a small business run out of someone’s house, the back garden is gorgeous and peaceful. If you want the experience that you’re at your aunts home and she’s the best cook in town, definitely come here. Don’t come here with the expectation that it will be like an American fast food joint or restaurant for that matter. It’s Mexico, and a small business things run out sometimes, things take time here and sometimes they open late. Once you make peace with this, you’ll be able to fully appreciate the true beauty of this gem.
We discovered this place because a local person recommended it to us and it was a great experience. The prices are very good, the food is varied and delicious and it is prepared right in front of you. It feels cosy and familiar. The coffee...is great too and it is prepared in a separate space. Also, this place is an artistic one so you will enjoy if for sure!
El mejor desayuno que he tenido en mucho tiempo , cocina yucateca casera acompañada de muy buena atención, lo recomiendo 100%
