Bidrage med feedbackMy husband and I visited Steamers on Date Nights and were never disappointed. We took our family, 3 children and two adults to celebrate one of our birthdays. We were treated with respect and great service, it was fast and pleasant. Our food was delicious! The children disappeared their Caesar salads and we all liked the Scallop appetizer. Hubby's steak was perfectly cooked and my halibut was fresh. Dessert sealed the meal and we all came and out, within an hour and half and had a wonderful evening!
I really wanted to like this place. I had heard great things about it and the menu looked fantastic, but overall this place was really disappointing. Service was like that. Our server was friendly enough, but we were paved our entire meal, although we refilled a few times. The atmosphere was okay. It is rustic, somewhat outdated, and was very chic. We expected something better for the prices they calculated. We ordered Clam Chowder, lemon caper chicken, and the trout and rack of lamb plate. Chowder was good, neither tasty or terrible. Lemon caper chicken was more a note in taste, but also fine. My plate was the trout and the lamb, and I must say the most tasty thing on the plate was the potatoes. The trout was unnoticed, and the lamb was overcooked and hard. Overall, it was not the worst food in the world, but it was aggressively mediocre and overpriced for quality. I'm really disappointed because I had such great hopes in this place.
Love this place! We eat every time we visit McCall! The food is excellent!
Good pet seafood. We ordered the rain series trout and salmon. Both come either with soup or salad and bread. For the sides you can get the potatoes or rice. We have the Manhattan Clam Chowder who was good, but needed more shells. The Cesar salad was good. It didn't come with anchovies and the dressing didn't frighten or over power the salad. We both preferred the potatoes because how to go wrong with potatoes. They were creamy and cheesy. The rice was tasty, but can be forgotten about the potatoes. It was a tie for us with trout and salmon. Both were delicious.
Don?t be fooled by the unassuming, rustic look from the street, or the liberal use of wood paneling on?everything. Despite the humble look, the chef can cook! Try the braised pork or the steak, scallops, and shrimp! The food is expertly cooked, the staff is attentive, and the atmosphere is authentic to the mill-town roots of McCall of yesteryear. It?s easy to walk right past? But be sure to give it a try.
