Everything was just perfect! the waiters are laborious, polite, efficient and extremely professional. there is enough space between the tables to create an atmosphere of personal eating. eating is very well decorated, with balanced and rich aromas. the decoration of the restaurant is with a historical note. the chef is extremely talented and very pleasant. the courses were personalized, surprisingly it is not an expensive restaurant taking into account the high quality food. next time we are in lisbon, it is worth visiting again!
We do not understand the negative assessments neither the regrettable fact that during most of our dinners we were the only diners within, and that on a Friday night. yes, there are many hotter and trendy places in lissabon, some dressed with michelin stars / stars, and some figure prominently on the 50 best restaurants in the world, and there are some celebrity cuisine that are now working in lissabon. but! that means nothing. all wut is very transparent in nature and tavares remains one of the oldest restaurants in Europe, which was opened in 1784 and proudly bears the names of tavares brothers since 1832! Beyond that, less than 24 hours ago, that we have a chef 's tasting menu at one of the selected Lisbon restaurants, a recipient of Michelin star and his terrible service has not even the same rank as the top holiday service in tavares, with its carefully preserved traditions and carefully held rituals near the fine restaurants, as it is known for hundreds of years, but very rarely seen today. to the above mentioned an unreally luxurious and opulent interieur, an executing form of luxe, calme et volupté, and they are transported immediately into the world of elegance, class and chic that allas no longer exist. the restaurant offers an à la carte option as well as a chef 's tasting menu, the latter is much cheaper. However, we chose the à la carte option that enjoyed our own decisions more. even though tavares emphasizes the classic French culinary tradition, some local specialties are on the menu and can be enjoyed equally. from brotservice to the amazingly complicated wine card ceremony, to a series of artistically prepared amuse bouches, from the immense delicate cauliflower vichyssoise king crab and granny smith apfel) to the hearty roast octopus 'smashed kartoffel ', pfeffer and olive oil,) from the absolutely classic “Tavares” steto
