Bidrage med feedbackHad the homemade sausage and the prosciutto sandwiches here and they were probably the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had. The ingredients were fresh and high quality, everything worked well together. We sat outside on the small tables to enjoy the weather and the nice vibe on the street. Best of all, prices were reasonable.
Ciao, fellow food enthusiasts! Let me tell you about my latest Italian culinary adventure, a charming little gem that has stolen my heart and taste buds: Cafe Lido, Verdun! Now, I don't usually write reviews like that, but when I stumbled upon this place a couple of times recently, I knew it was time to spread the word about this hidden treasure.Nestled on a busy Wellington street in Verdun, it boasts a touch of our Little Italy for me.The moment you step inside, you're welcomed like an old friend returning home. The great people running the place are like the nonna and nonno you never knew you needed in your life, and their passion for Italian cuisine shines through in every homemade dish they serve.Speaking of homemade, everything here is made with love and care. As someone who lived on sandwiches for a good 10 years of my life (don't judge me), I can confidently say that their sandwiches are out of this world! Move over PB&J, because the sandwiches at Cafe Lido are on a whole other level. Now, let's talk about their piece de resistance: the homemade sausage sandwich. It's a recipe passed down from an Italian grandpa 60 years ago, and it has been polished and refined to perfection over six decades. One bite, and you'll understand why it's an Italian family secret worth sharing.Oh, and did I mention their croissant with ham and cheese for breakfast? Sublime! It's like they've taken a classic French delight and sprinkled it with Italian magic. It's the perfect way to start the day, and I may have gone back for breakfast three days in a row. This place is officially my go-to spot for authentic sandwiches. To the lovely folks at Cafe Lido: Grazie mille for creating such a delightful experience. You've earned yourself a loyal customer, and I can't wait to return to sample more of your mouthwatering offerings. Bravo! ???
Before walking in this place looked incredible, oh was I wrong!!!First of all when I walked in, There were several flies inside the store. The cafe was extremely hot and humid clearly no AC. And I had waited about 5min until someone finally came to take in my order there was only 1 other client in the cafe )The wait time was the least of my problems with this place. It’s the service of the man who came to see me. Was extremely rude, I had asked for 2 coffees and he sighs as if he’s annoyed to do his job. When I go to pay I grab a card where if you buy 10 coffees you get one for free. He stamped it once so I ask shouldn’t it be twice if I’m buying 2 coffees and he screams “it’s one stamp per purchase” I’m still increasing business and purchasing that extra coffee it doesn’t make any sense. The ONLY Reason it’s 2 stars and not one is cause the coffee is not that bad. But you could get much better on wellington.
Phenomenal service, staff genuinely made everything exceptional. Had an AMAZING chicken parm sandwich, my wife had an equally great house porchetta sandwich. Cute spot to get some remote work done and relax.
Beautiful, kind, and generous staff. The pistachio cream filled doughnut, the sfogliatelli, and canolli are amazing ? especially the canolli wow. Their pizza margherita is also solid. And the decoration is a vibe ???
