Jean Farris Winery Bistro - Lexington

The wine was horrible. Two flights all eight red wines tasted like vinegar. They were offering discounted bottles and I am 100% sure that they had an issue sealing bottles last harvest. Despite the fact that we hardly drank anything, no one asked us if we disliked the wine. All three employees just kind of ignored the fact that we were openly discussing how bad it was. The Butcher’s Board was good. The place was not super clean and looked kind of like it was going out of business.

8 different reds all spoiled! I tried to mention it and the employee said all their wines taste like that! I paid for wine and did not drink more than a sip! They were horrible and the fact that the owner is selling wine that was not properly last year is an embarrassment to Kentucky wine! None of the wine from any of the other vineyard here tastes like that! Unfortunately if a person comes to visit Kentucky wine country and that’s their first stop, I’m afraid they might not visit the others. The other vineyards may be losing business because of them!

Run out leg of lamb at 6:40 pm, which was the main reason for going there, Beef $48 was tough, and dry. Slow service, flies and mosquitoes outdoor seating.

Very peaceful dining with an amazing sunset patio view. Food was outstanding as well as service. We enjoyed several wine flights all were very good. Looking forward to our next visit.

What a wonderful place. We've had a great time. We found this jewel on our travels. Everyone should go and experience for themselves. We will definitely return when in the area.
