Bidrage med feedbackWe have driven past this place many times on our way to St. Aiden’s and always thought it appeared to be a pub, which it was in the past. The interior is lovely and cosy, with a very friendly atmosphere and staff. We enjoyed the changing background music (which is listed on a blackboard). We opted for breakfast, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The prices were excellent and the food was well-cooked. There was a bit of a wait due to the busy garden area and nearly full inside. We are looking forward to returning to try their cakes, which looked fantastic. They offer scones and a good selection of home-baked cakes and traybakes, rather than the usual store-bought sugary treats. The lunch options also sounded great, with the chef updating the specials board while we were there, indicating fresh ingredients and made-from-scratch meals. Additionally, they have a craft shop featuring products from various small businesses, offering a range of gifts, aromatherapy items, and eco-friendly goods at good prices. We cannot wait to visit again soon and thank you for the excellent service and food!

This pub has been transformed into a charming cafe with small craft shops nearby. It seems to be popular with those who have time to spare during the week. The food at the cafe is average.
We have passed by so many times after shopping but decided as we didn't want a carvery this Monday we'd give it a try as we knew they did light lunches. My husband ordered the home made quiche,it came with home made wedges a nice salad,he had a latte with this.I just opted for a tuna mayo sandwich in a delicious granary bap, this came with a few salad leaves some crisps.I had a pot of tea ,it was in a lovely pot teapot with a china cup, saucer milk jug I don't know what tea it was but it was the nicest tea I've had in a long time the teapot stretched to 3 cups. Service was prompt servers very pleasant efficient, total bill came to £13.35p,very good value for money. Found the craft shop very interesting, lots of quirky things on sale .
Arrived when it was quiet and ordered green tea, breakfast tea and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. Sat at a table and waited and waited, listening to the staff chatting and gossiping behind me. Eventually I stood up and asked how long it would take to get our drinks... They had forgotten... even though only our order was waiting. The green tea came in an enormous leaky stainless steel tea pot. The breakfast tea in a pot about half the size again it leaked. (All over my trousers and it was HOT). The slice of cake was about the thickness of my finger. One of the cups was cracked inside and stained. The milk jug was chipped. I like shabby chic, but not at the risk of basic hygiene. Staff seemed more interested in getting to the end of the day then actually taking care. As my title says, it just wasn't good enough. Came away feeling slightly deflated.
