Gibb's Old Country Store - Learned

Staff sucks. A very rude young girl looking like she just strolled out of the sewers, I believe they called her Heather, was very snotty to our party. Bad for business. Won't be going back.

Really like this place!!! The atmosphere and music were great! The steak is better than I have had at any place in Jackson. You also can even bring your own wine. We will be going back soon!!!

Really enjoyed our meal. We had read some of the negative reviews and almost did no go there because of that but I am glad I did not make that choice. The filet I had was as good if not better than any of the nice steak places around Jackson and I have eaten at all of them. My wife had the lamb chops and she said it was the best she had ever had. The service was great, Mary Bell came by to visit our table before the food arrived and was very gracious. Chip checked on us during the meal and was also very pleasant. Our young waitress never let the tea glasses even come close to being empty. Not sure what some of these people mean by rudeness but the owners and wait staff truly seemed to enjoy us being there and we were told that several times, We also enjoyed the music. When I want a good steak, this is the place I will visit. Well worth the drive.

Great atmosphere, Staff could care less. We had visited Gibbes a couple of years ago and had a good experience even though the menu was a bit pricey for what they cook. We decided to bring a larger party (9 total) so others could experience the old store atmosphere. Well, the store looked great and that 's about all I can say. We were not met with a smile, were seated and then a young girl took our orders. Food was delivered pretty quickly, but found out soon my steak was not medium well, but medium rare as was others. Our wait person was no where to be found after our food was delivered. No drinks were refilled and no one checked on us. They were not busy at all, the store being less than half full. It felt like McDonald 's service at Shapleys or Ruth 's Chris steakhouse prices. Strange that when that store was new, people were treated like they were wanted there, now, not so sure... The entire party commented on the constant stares from the kitchen area and overall lack of concern from the wait staff. They all loved the building and didn 't mind the prices if they had just shown some hospitality. I do have to leave this review on a positive note: The musician they had was excellent!

Returned to Gibbs last night for the third time. Went with friends who wanted to go. My first two times the service was dismal if there was any at all. Last night was a whole different experience. Waitstaff was so attentive and friendly. A lot of new faces. They kept our tables clean (no we did not have to put the plates in a garbage can). The musician was wonderful. Quiet guitar and harmonica music. The steak and salad were wonderful. Potato was dry and not as Hot as we would have liked, but overall a very good meal. We tried a few of their desserts and they were excellent. If you had a bad experience before I say try it again. I’m glad I did. It was a lovely time.
