Charly's Gin Cocktail - Lagoa

A small, grubby, smelly, stuffy bar with overpriced drinks €5 for a beer! The Tivoli is cheaper). This place does not welcome families with well-behaved children even when it's almost empty. It's a shame, because the location overlooking the beach is fabulous, and it could be amazing if it had owners who are not from the Fawlty Towers school of hospitality. The only bad experience I've had in Carvoeiro. If they don't want to welcome children, they should have a prominent sign at the entrance stating this.

Another regular, always does great cocktails and if you can get a seat outside then it has an amazing view, especially when the sun goes down or when the entertainment is on in the square. Lots of places in CV now do cocktails, but I have watched these being made and know they are premium and fresh. Given the location, the prices are OK too. I'm sure the inside seating is just as good, I've just never sat there. My only gripe is that I think I have been told off every single time I have visited not in a nasty way but that's just me a little bundle of mischief.

The owners (Kenny and Sophia) are delightful and super friendly, and they seriously make the best drinks in Carvoeiro. I'm going to miss this place.
