Rickey Meche's Donut King - Lafayette

Hope I’m reviewing the correct location, but when I still lived in Louisiana I had several Meche’s king cakes and they looked and tasted great. I don’t live there anymore and had to order a king cake and have it shipped. I’m extremely disappointed with this one. It was wrapped in cellophane, and I’m wondering if it was wrapped when the cake was still warm. All the icing had melted. Beat donuts in town. I try to avoid that place but the smell always drags me back in every time. They have wall to wall king cakes at this time of the year.

Good morning. I just had the weirdest encounter with a representative of Rickey Meche’s Donut King on Pinhook. The rep refused to accept a $20 bill that predates the new bill with the line in it, even though the bank gave it to me two days ago (obviously still acceptable US currency). She said, “I am sure it is a good bill, just old, but I am not taking it.” Really?? Since when? Needless to say, it went downhill from here. This is my grandbaby best place ever for his donuts in the morning, if they close he will cry,even after hours he is saying maw maw let's go get donuts I tell him its close,he says no maw maw its open soni have to go pass just so he can see,then he says we come tomorrow, great donuts place and ever time I go donuts always free so I hope it stays that way.
