Fego Caffe - La Mercy

Fego Caffe has become a preferred pop-in on-route home from business trips in KZN. It is conveniently located to most boarding gate in the domestic departures terminal at King Shaka Airport. They offer a range of light meals, beverages and cakes. The staff are always welcoming and provides a friendly service. They are used to tight deadlines as many passengers have only a few minutes to grab something to eat before boarding flights. On a recent trip, I misplaced my phone and accidentally left it behind. When I arrived back in Johannesburg, I called the Caffe and Sameer informed me he found the phone! He went above and beyond to get the phone back to me. He is a honest and kind person! The restaurant staff went above and beyond to provide excellent service! I was at the international departure area of the airport and the Mozart cake (regarded as the best in the world) was not available. However, they contacted the Fego restaurant on the domestic side to bring a slice for me. The cake was incredibly fresh, soft, and fluffy. Thank you for enhancing my travel experience! I had an hour and a half before my flight when I ordered breakfast and a platter. The food arrived with enough time for me to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. The portions were plentiful. The waiter was attentive and friendly, despite the restaurant being only about 40% full with only one waiter working. He managed to provide great service to everyone. I would be hesitant to go if the restaurant got busier. Overall, I would rate the service, food, and atmosphere as a 5 out of 5.

A small group of us were leaving Durban to return to Australia. We had breakfast at Fego Caffe, King Shaka International Airport, Shop DDR 07, Domestic Departures, Durban 4029. The food was good and the service was prompt and efficient. Unknown to me, an iPad was left behind. 2 weeks later I contacted Fego and discovered Sameer had my iPad in safe keeping. Wow, what can I say! It's now on it's way back to Australia. Sameer thanks again; my holiday safari memories are coming back to me. Irreplacable. The food at this restaurant was tasty and came out quickly. There were plenty of seats to choose from. The waiter was friendly and attentive, but there was only one waiter working so service may be slow during peak times. Overall, it was a good dining experience for lunch, with prices ranging between R 50–100 per person.
