The dining experience at this restaurant is pleasant, with vegan options available at a reasonable price. I would have rated it 4 out of 5 stars if not for what we witnessed. Unfortunately, we encountered a baby monkey in a frappuccino costume, separated from his mother who appeared distressed. It was suggested that the mother had passed away, but regardless, the baby monkey should not be in a bar surrounded by intoxicated tourists. I typically do not have a problem with animals in captivity, but I would not recommend this restaurant to those who are truly concerned about animal welfare, as it is uncertain how frequently the monkey is there. Additionally, it was disheartening to witness tourists taking photos with the monkey and attempting to touch him.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of vegan options and the staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. The smooth bowls are delicious and we also enjoyed the tempeh tacos and sweet potatoes. This review was last updated on July 27, 2019.
Everything is clearly marked on the menu and there are a few Buddha shots and other options that can be customized to be made vegan. I had the smashed avocado on tempo and was really impressed. the smashed avocado was really tasty with a garlic and lemon twist and that was on two huge portions tempeh I was thrilled. the personal was all very friendly and the place had a nice relaxed atmosphere.
