Kathleen - Kolkata (Calcutta)

This outlet of Kathleen,Laketown is quaint place away from the hustle and bustle of the city.<br/ <br/ Located almost next to KC Das and Blue Poppy.<br/ <br/ We ordered caramel cream muffin and chocolate pastry.<br/ <br/ The caramel cream muffin(Rs 30/ was a cupcake topped with yellow cream and drizzled with caramel.The yellow cream was of a cheap quality,that sticks to the top of the mouth.(2/5 .<br/ <br/ The chocolate pastry (Rs 40/ was quite awesome.It had a boat shaped chocolate biscuit as the base.The mid portion had a chocolate brownie thing and this was topped with chocolate.As if all this was not enough,the whole thing was topped with nuts. We were kind of amazed with this item.It was quite heavy on the tummy.: (6/5 .

Not very fond of their cakes as the quality seems a bit on the sub standard side to me. But I am particularly fond of their sandwiches and the cheese and lemon tarts. Will keep visiting for these two items.

One of oldest brand in cake and pastry served in Kolkata. This joint is located in Laketown on road , just opposite to Laketown Girls' High School. But frankly speaking except few good items Kathleen has unable to keep themselves in run with the modern brands. I love their salad roll the most and boats.

I grew up in Lake Town and Kathleen has been a favorite ever since. I love their chicken double decker sandwich and their puffs  and other savory items on the list. Some of my birthday cakes down the years were from Kathleen and this place has given us memories. The chilling AC, the ice cream counter, all the nice goodies made this place the perfect place for a snack.

Kathleen has been an age old bakery and confectionery in the city of joy. This outlet is very near to my place hence I'm a regular here. I am a total fan of the chicken salad roll . It's huge in size and quite fillling for small hungers :P Apart from that their chicken submarine is also a good one. Not to forget their yummy pastries. Overall a pocket friendly joint. Do try it out.
