Bidrage med feedbackA delicious dinner of baby snapper, skaloppe risotto with garlic king prawns for a entree. our host was fantastic. so kind. highly recommended!
We had dinner at the Sat night: eating was delicious very welcoming service from the whole team from the moment we entered! the chefs crème Brûlée garlic prawns cannot recommend enough (we still dream of these two! thank you again for a nice evening.
We were very excited to try here for the first time. we felt for the owners when they were underoccupied at night. all the workers were apologetic about waiting, but eating was not prepared. overcooked skalopp entree, bland prawn and skallop risotto and the $40 steak was not rare as ordered. I hope that was just one. sangria jug was delicious
It's not often that you go to a restaurant and have such difficulty deciding what to order, as everything you've had on the menu is so incredible. Amazing family run restaurant and what a lovely family they are.Allison, Audrey Gracie are such friendly and attentive front of house staff and John, his son and team are truly incredible chefs and cooks.I genuinely believe that out of the top 5 meals i've ever had, 4 of them would be from Merry Street Restaurant.Things i'd recommend to order, menu permitting in no particular order):1. Surfer Burger nice bacon and BBQ sauce)2. Lamb Burger has an awesome beetroot and feta or goats cheese thing going on)3. Prawn and Chorizo Linguini has a perfect amount of flavour and spice)4. Zucchini Flowers something different and comes with a tomato based type of sauce on the side we get these every time they have them)5. Seafood Chowder incredible dish with a range of seafood. I reckon it's on par with the famous chowder joints in New England. We hope to see this one back on the menu next winter)6. Salt Pepper Squid had it one night when it was all they had available, whilst it's not typically a dish I would order, it is really good and would recommend it if this is what you're into)7. Mixed Antipasto Board good range of nibbles. Smoked olives were surprisingly warm when served and now I cannot imagine eating them any other way)8. Oysters Kilpatrick I usually prefer oysters with a vinaigrette however these are very good if you like the worcetershire/bacon flavours)9. Chicken Burger not your typical thick and juicy deep fried chicken burger, it's more of a thin cut and then grilled... but wow... this one is a go for sure). It's likely the most expensive place for food in the Bawley/Kioloa area $20 35 per adult) but it's 100% worth every cent... and everyone that we've either been with or brought to agrees.Cannot recommend this place enough. Wish it was open 7 days a week.
Good food, generous servings, friendly staff. Clearly a local haunt so that's a good sign of a restaurant worth stopping in for dinner. Having dessert is highly recommended!
