I usually have good things to say about this chain and while traveling on the road I always enjoy the consistency and familiar offerings at Cracker Barrel and sadly this location was a disappointment. After hours of driving, I wanted breakfast in the afternoon and pulled off the interstate to enjoy what I have come to appreciate about this roadside chain at about 2:30p. I ordered an Old Timers which comes with 2 eggs that I ordered over medium and biscuits and gravy and I selected crispy bacon and hash browns as part of the order. It arrived about 15 minutes later from an expeditor and not my waiter, he hadn 't returned to check on me after the order was taken. It arrived with fatty bacon, not crispy, as ordered and I told the expeditor I had ordered crisp bacon. I assumed she would simply bring back crispy bacon not take the entire order back, which I am never comfortable about. She returned about 10 minutes later and the bacon was crispy, nearly burned and had been microwaved. I didn 't complain and accepted my food, as I was very hungry. The plate had been placed in a warmer or under heat lamps while awaiting the bacon correction. This continued cooking the eggs which were now over well done. The biscuits hardened and browned darker and the gray had become gelatinous. I tried to eat it and couldn 't. The waiter finally asked, passing by my table, if all was good man and I said No and explained what happened and he became defensive that he ordered the bacon crispy. Clearly he wasn 't listening and would have understood I was explaining my disappointment with the food, not him. He asked if I wanted to send it back, of course not after the second time back for bacon. He flung the receipt on the table and walked away with a grunt. Honestly, I never blame servers for food issues and if they Inquire about it I usually ask for a manager to come to the table because food prep is not the servers issue. He didn 't offer and I didn 't request because I was traveling and already wasted too much time. I left having consumed the eggs and bacon only after sampling a bite of the other items. I was asked at the register about my meal and again commented it was not satisfactory. She asked if I wanted to see a manager, I explained I needed to get on the road. She explained that they were a training store and needed to know these things and I mentioned that I spoke to the expeditor, the server and my plate left behind spoke volumes. I mentioned that I would post a review and she said that would be great! So, as requested, my review. I hope management sees it and improves the training here. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
