Original kansas city bbq. this place has the best taste. not from this Foo-Foo-Fully-BBQ. when their first time comes here, they are not disturbed by their methods to take orders. they scream about the restraunt hi, how can I help them? they have a large meat plate called the president tablet food up to 5 people. I will continue to come to get this original kc bbq!

Gates beef nooner, is the best $6.95, (was just $6. lunch everywhere, hands down, they can't beat it. eat here on Friday, for lunch, they will wait awhile

Burnt ends, thick fries, cafeteria style with great service. Definitely a highlight of my visit.

Great, as always. I recommend the hottest BBQ sauce they have. I purchased and consumed a Burnt Ends sandwich. It was crispy and the portion size was sufficient. I had enough BBQ sauce, which I had to grab on my own. The place was pretty busy, everyone was yelling, and there were a couple flies going around. If the location and experience in store were better, I would likely give 5 stars. Gates is one of the iconic examples of KC BBQ, and I recommend everyone tries it at least once, regardless of the physical location in KC.
