The Rose Venice

So glad we chose this place for a family gathering... Kind host, server, helpers. Delicious food made with quality ingredients. Lovely (and completely shaded) seating out back. It all made for an excellent experience.

So disappointed. We were meeting old friends from the UK My wife 's cocktail was out of ingredients so she ordered a wine. The wine never came, and our waitress never came back or acknowledges one was missing. None of the requested condiments came. The salad was very bland so we asked for a vinagrette and the server gave attitude then returned with exactly the same bland dressing. We asked another server who also never came back... It just went on and on. Servers like this ruin the experience. It 's just too experience to have bad service and mediocre food. Rose used to be legendary, the Ivy of Venice. Now its wilted. Here 's to better management and value for money.

I’ve been in Venice for a month and walked past this place everyday until today when I went for an early dinner. The hosts were super hospitable and the waiter Kurt was super friendly and educated on the menu which changes often. He recommended some dishes which were absolutely delicious and the server Walter also provided great service. Thank you for an amazing meal and overall lovely experience. This will definitely be my local go to for a great meal and atmosphere. Thank you!

This restaurant was recommended to us for its cuisine, atmosphere and service. Concerning the cuisine, a great discovery even if certain dishes the pepper could take over. As for the service, if I could have given 0 stars, I would have done so. Dishes were often not dropped off but “thrown” to us. We asked for bread, on two occasions we were told there was no bread and the only bread was the naan served with a dish. So we paid over $17 for bread…. 10 minutes later buttered bread was served to us….So as I said, a service or a server unworthy of this establishment. No smile, he never came to ask if everything was OK…. And finally he was very upset when I chose not to tip.

The atmosphere and service was nice, a little difficult to find parking spot nearby, food was just ok.
