Back To Black Coffee - Jordaan

Recently visited Amsterdam and found this great little coffee shop on the quiet Weteringstraat (street) not far from Spiegalgracht. Opening hours 8am to 6pm daily. For starters, the coffee at Back to Black is very good. I greatly enjoyed their rich espresso which went wonderfully with the traditional Dutch apple pie. The apple pie was worthy of high praise, one of the best I've had in many years and a genuine rival to the famous Winkle 43 apple pie that was also much enjoyed during this visit. Pleased enough with both the coffee and apple pie, I returned a couple days later for another round of both. The strong coffee blend worked well as a latte during this visit. The espresso came through very well, making for a nice white coffee drink. Again, the apple pie was stellar. I also very much enjoyed the cozy, casual feel of this local coffee shop. Free wifi, great atmosphere coupled with excellent black and white coffees and apple pie translates into a very good venue choice for coffee aficionado and foodies during visits to Amsterdam. I would be a regular visitor to Back to Black if I lived in the area.

Deicious dutch apple pie to die for! Coffee was great and ambience was very relaxing. Lovely little spot to just sit and pass the time.

A new place, has just opened recently. It is located close to a Gracht, it is super cosy. Especially the carpet on the floor makes you feel like in your own living room. Should you have the luck to get the small bench outside (at around lunch the sun is best ! Grab you loved one and enjoy the apple cake : you will stay in love forever. I am having an Ethiopian coffee from Korate, roasted by Sweet Cup. Sweet Cup is supposed to be open, but is closed. Not cool!!! But my coffee tastes great: tea, roses, clean cup, yellow stone fruits and lingering aftertaste with a hint of Swiss milk chocolate. Nice surprise! Keep going and I will be here sitting on the bench with my wife once we are old! Cool place, great coffee, nice stuff!
