Shangrila Nepalese Restaurant

A hidden gem that is perfect for a romantic dinner for two or a family gathering. I highly recommend trying the palate-disguising dish and the Rogan Josh, as well as everything else on the menu.

We are regulars at this small restaurant in Joondanna and were disappointed to find it closed on the last Friday (19.5.2017). However, after calling them, we found out that they are only closed for three weeks for kitchen renovations. We enjoy the butter chicken, lamb curry, and okra dishes. The goat curry is good, but be aware that it has a lot of bones, as is typical for goat curry. The prices are affordable, making it a great value for the money.

I went to this restaurant on a Monday evening, using a Groupon voucher on its last day. It was very quiet, but the food was fantastic. I had a mixed entree of samosas, tandoori chicken, and onion pakora, all well cooked and tasty. For main course, I ordered lamb jalfrezi, chicken korma, and naan bread, all of which were delicious. The lamb was especially tender. The restaurant also had a BYO policy for only $2.50.

This place is a hidden gem. the staff is friendly, delicious and has a cozy atmosphere. will definitely return.

As soon as we walked in the customer service was top notch. Pricing is good and when we took the delivery home the food was fantastic to match.
