I wish this was a good review. (Long post) I visited with my mom today. When we arrived, the hostess was seated in the waiting area eating her lunch. I understand food service and sometimes you have to take your breaks when you can. She seated us with one menu and asked if we needed an extra. I kindly replied yes, but of course we needed two menus for two people. I went to the bathroom only to find the toilet tissue hanging from the purse hanger in the stall. One soap dispenser was operative (with watery soap) and the other was broken. No trash bag in the garage can. I opted for the salad bar but it looked unmanaged and only had 2 dirty plates available. While I was eating my appetizer a critter (roach) kindly greeted me on the wall. The server was kind and very apologetic but if a critter felt comfortable making an appearance in broad daylight, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. I'm so sad because most Ruby Tuesday locations have closed down and I really loved their salad bar.
The main reason we continue to occasionally patronize this chain is because of the salad bar. Years ago they also offered a wonderful molten lava cake with raspberry topping (the best around IMO) but seem to have replaced it with the lackluster dessert options now offered. This is the dish I was most disappointed with in terms of portion size for the price the Crispy Chicken Mac n Cheese. Would not order it again unless a side was offered with it or the portion size adjusted.
I was not in this restaurant about a year because of bad service and management. I and my naked went out to eat for their infamous everything they can eat salatable. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the bar was clean, fully equipped and refreshed every 15min. new workers and a new manager made a big difference for this restaurant. nicole, my server, was professional and attentive. the lady responsible for the salad baroque store was very sweet and smiled. we met the new manager and gave her a compliment for a job well done. we want to eat there again.
Clearly today was not the best day for fresh food! Had my mouth set on the triple play! Man it came hot and looked appealing. But OMG, ribs were super dry to the bone...literally! Garden bar had brown wilted lettuce, however other garden dishes were pleasing. Oh, and the old fashion cocktail was served w/a spoiled orange! The best part of visit was server Brandon, he was great, along other staff were pleasant and courteous also. Perhaps it will get better as the days go by!
