Cafe De L'europe - Issigeac

We stopped at this little place for coffee, my brother arrived first and ordered and paid for his coffee, I then arrived with my youngest and bought and paid for our drinks and finally when my wife and others arrived they ordered their drinks. When it came time to leave my wife asked for the bill for their drinks but the owner tried to charge us for all the drinks including the three paid for. After much haggling the owner agreed that I had already paid for two but insisted that my brother had not paid for his, so I ended up paying twice. Such deceitful behaviour, such a shame Buyer beware!!

A tiny place tucked away in the shadow of the church, Cafe de l'Europe is worth seeking out for the frites alone the best we've ever eaten! A tree shaded outdoor table was perfect for lunchtime and our hostess was very kind about our terrible French. The two patés we had for starters were earthy and satisfying. The duck offered that day was cooked to pink perfection . . . and those frites! With a glass of wine and bread, our meals were all of €15 each!

Full of local goings on and atmosphere. A community hub. From Franglaise classes to local folk nights or a simple beer or coffee in the heart of this picturesque village. We love visiting.
