Lorelei Restaurant Cabana Bar

Nice tourist place. Great place to view an amazing sunset. Food is typical bar style food. Service is nice but a little slow but maybe that's done on purpose to all folks to enjoy a talking Florida lifestyle.

While staying on Islamorada for a few days, we really lucked out with a perfect table at Lorelei for some afternoon drinks. Their unique bar area right over the water allows for awesome views in almost every direction, and particularly great sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. While we didn't get anything to eat, service was really friendly and the cocktails were delicious. I would definitely go back! I hope you get a chance to see the fun mascot cat that belongs to the bar...and that cat is totally unfazed by the many dogs who were with their owners for a lazy afternoon in the sunshine. Also, the mermaid logo is super cool and we did have to buy a T-shirt in the store across from the bar to remember our time at Lorelei.

Went here hoping their dinner was as good as their breakfast. It wasn 't! Not good at all. The only thing they have going for them is the location. Fries were cold, their world famous grouper sandwich was anything but world famous. More bread than fish (small filet), plus it was very bland (suppose to be blackened). My wife had the mahi fish tacos, bland and they looked like fried fish sticks from the frozen section at the grocery store. Their carribean rice was bland and under cook. Crazy thing is, they were packed. Very disappointed!

Great spot. Good food. Been many times. Could be a little cleaner and broken fans replaced. My only negative comment is Rob the manager appears to be an a$$hole. I asked a simple question about buying some tshirts and he was a total jerk. Whatever. But if he treated me that way I can only imagine how he treats others.

As we were driving down to Key West, we had to stop for a Bushwacker and water view. Lorelei's is the place. It is a quaint place with a variety of seating and welcoming wait help. The gift shop is great too. We saw a seaplane as we entered and we found a perfect seat near the water. We ordered up the fancy Bushwackers and enjoyed the view and the company. Thanks Lorelei's for the cold drinks and wonderful service.
