St. Burch Tavern - Iowa City

The place seemed nice at first till we received our Cheese Curds that were undercooked, and made us feel sick. We didn’t receive our drinks till sitting there for at-least 30 min (they were fountain drinks). It was kind of just an odd uncomfortable experience with very little/slow service to be $65 for 2 people. One of which ordered half of a bacon sandwich and a side salad.

We had the unfortunate experience of a extremely rude and unfriendly manager at this establishment. We scheduled a wedding rehearsal dinner here at 3:30 p.m. we originally had 18 people in mind for the dinner but a few extra came making it close to 25. We were rudely told we cannot have over 18 because of the dinner rush that wasn't going to happen for another 3 hours. There was no customers in the restaurant at 3:30 and we were rudely told that the remainder of our guests had to leave. I have never been told we can't have part of our party attend a dinner. So whoever was managing the restaurant on September 8th at 3:30 p.m. is a disgrace to your establishment. You lost out on a few hundred dollars extra and ruined someone's memory of their wedding.

Best restaurant in Iowa City! The food is amazing here, and the service is incredible. We had the filet mignon and lobster Mac Cheese for entrees; however, we started off with the cheese curds. All were so good, with the service even better very professional and personal at the same time. Can't wait to return for another meal when back in Iowa City!

A group of us sat a table in the basement bar area. Coming in from a bright sunny day into a dimmly lit basement took all of us 10 minutes or so to adjust to the lighting. About half of our group had to use mobile phone flashlights to read the menus (the older half of our group is over 50yrs. old). Anyway, the food was great, service was great, and we had a very nice dinner in a very unique atmosphere ?

My husband and I decided this was the best lunch we have ever had. The service was great also. 0 Lovely placeWe were from out of town and very disappointed we can't come more often. If ever in the area again, we will def come back.
