The vegan pizza is just pizza without cheese. Seriously, is this the best they can do? Anyway, it's a big portion, thin crust, and the staff are lovely. Also a great choice of draft beer and cider. Updated from previous review on 2023-02-28

Tuatara Lodge is a bar/cafe/hang out area at the bottom of a backpackers. Its really big has atleast 10 tables inside aswell as couches and big tables with kids eye-spy built into the tables. There are always plenty of seats with 2 outdoor seating areas. Alot of plants as decor. Wooden floors, spacious ive found it very kid friendly as staff very much leave you alone (till service only). Tuatara Lodge is a lively bar, café, and gathering spot located at the bottom of a backpackers' lodge. The space is quite spacious, featuring at least ten tables inside, along with comfortable couches and large tables designed for families, complete with children's eye-spy games embedded into the surfaces. There are always plenty of seats available, including two outdoor seating options. The ambiance is enhanced by numerous decorative plants, and the wooden floors add to the overall charm. I’ve found it to be very child-friendly, as the staff is attentive while still allowing you to enjoy your time. This has been my personal experience. The vegan pizza is essentially just pizza without cheese. Honestly, is that the best they can offer? On the bright side, the portion is generous with a thin crust, and the staff is lovely. They also have a wide selection of craft beers and apple wine. This is an update from my previous review on February 28, 2023.
