Joe's Coney Island - Houghton Lake

Upsold sausage to the kids. Food was fine but was very expensive for a Coney place.

The most amazing sourdough bread I’ve ever had! It’s big, soft and flavorful. I could eat it as a meal everyday. The staff are friendly and attentive too.

Excellent food and a great friendly environment. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in the Houghton Lake area.

So my wife and I are from Georgia. While in Michigan, on a business trip, we noticed that there is a coney place on every corner. While breaking for lunch one day in Roscommon, I said, “let’s go to that Joes Coney Island” place we saw while driving around Houghton Lake. Wow what a great idea that was. Had to go back two more times before we went home best hotdogs we have ever put in our mouths! Again, from GA so we don’t know hotdogs like MI folks do, but even the Detroit coneys we had while in Detroit weren’t as good.
