Bidrage med feedbackGreat food and southern hospitality. Everyone was so friendly and they made extremely good roasted chicken and sides. They taught us Yankees what a Hush puppy is. Great experience, I would recommend this place to everyone.
Amazing service and incredible prices. This is the first time I had BBQ in North Carolina, but it won't be the last. The food here is a steal. My husband got a BBQ plate $6) and I had a BBQ sandwich with Fritten $4). The service and hospitality is so warm and welcoming that it tastes the food much better. My husband cleared his record in 5 minutes big guy and fast eater). The lady came by to fill our water, saw his empty plate and asked if he wanted something extra hush puppies without a fee. He accepted the offer graciously and she returned with lush puppies and extra drawn pigs!!!! There's nothing like the southern hospitality. Do not let off the cafeteria like the location, they have a lot of additional seating in the dining room and the food is good. Good vinegar and BBQ sauce. I dived everything I could.
Police Antenna Festival. I racked my feeble mind trying to come up with another title to no avail. The food is good no question about it. It isn't healthy and I'm sure that it probably has caused a heart attack or two but hey ya gotta go sometime. Eastern North Carolina BBQ, hush puppies and slaw anytime and Salisbury steak on Thursday and Friday are your best bets. My daddy always said that when you're away from home you can tell a good place to eat by the number of truckers who eat there. Daddy was wrong, they eat where they have room to park their truck. If you REALLY want to KNOW where to find good food prepared hot at a good price then look for patrol cars. Bruce and Mickey's is an antenna fest of patrol cars just about everyday at lunchtime.
Very nice staff. Tasty fried chicken, shrimp and deviled crab. The potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw and baked beans were delicious. Prices were pretty reasonable too. We'll definitely be back.
Home cooked in a family owned restaurant. 40 ys counting! Tasted just like Grandma's fried chicken, hush puppies and coleslaw. A must try. Very quaint place, great staff.
