Meritage Bistro - HIGHLANDS

For high-quality food, an excellent selection of international wines and value ratio, we think that Meritage is the best restaurant in Highlands .. and so do many other locals. It is supervised by an experienced professional, Andrea Schmitt, who knows how to plan reservations, hire large employees and monitor the preparation and presentation of the fantastic and constantly changing menu of their talented cook. There is a small dining room with about 8 tables and a large bar area near the entrance. The decor is incomparable and elegant and the service staff is understandable, friendly and professional. Reservations highly recommended.

The trout was excellent, but when I ordered an old fashion, it came out to look like a dirty orange juice. When I tried to explain to the bartender instead of being polite about it, they were quite rude and I thought I would order a simple beam and ginger. To my surprise, it was $14 a glass for the old fashions that made very wrong. In any case, other restaurants in this area would recommend. This bistro is not good for customer service.

What a lovely and enjoyable experience! When you want your brunch to be something special, this is the place to go! The staff and food were equally pleasing!

Great food and atmosphere. Some things could be adjusted. We waited quite some time at the door waiting to be seated. Once we were we were pleasantly surprised to be seated in the sunroom (we didn't realize there was a second room). It was lovely. The bathrooms are nice although they're in a cold part of the building and not labeled so you're not sure you're in the right place. That being said it was fun to watch people go in there confused. The brussel sprouts are like no other. Quite different but very good. I had the mushroom burger with fries that I thought were fresh cut, (they are not) and a side salad with their feta vinaigrette. The salad came with house vinaigrette and no fries. So that had to be fixed. My husband ordered the salmon dish with balsamic on the salad and it also came out with house dressing. The burger was a bit greasy but tasty. The toppings were awesome but by the end the bun was covered in grease. Fries were frozen type but good when dipped In the feta dressing. All in all we probably won't be back because we weren't all that impressed but if we do come back it will be for small plates and wine because their wine list is good.

Accommodated us our dog at last minute...excellent food...delightful server...reasonable prices...very good reasonable) wine list. Would definitely return.
