Xi-an Flavor - Highland Park

I have never been disappointed when ordering other dishes. Today I tried the large plate of chicken and was really disappointed. One order contained all chicken bones and I couldn’t even bite them. There were only four pieces of meat and the chicken was a bit stale.

Xi'an Flavor Restaurant is a culinary gem! The authentic flavors transport you to the streets of Xi'an. From hand-pulled noodles to savory roujiamo, each dish is a masterpiece. The cozy ambiance and friendly service enhance the dining experience. A must-visit for those craving genuine Xi'an cuisine in Edison!

I loved the double cooked pork over rice, Chinese hamburger, and soup stock beef noodle. It was good for carryout and there are a few casual tables for dine in. It is kid friendly, we brought a 1.5 and a 3.5 year old.

If you are familiar with Chinese food from the western region this is your go to place. Very good portion sizes and the food is very flavorful. If you are dining-in the don't expect this place to feel like a michelin three star restaurant experience as this is very much a mom&pop shop so if you are looking for that, this is not it. If you want the a hole in the wall experience as seen in a lot of Anthony Bourdain's tv show then place definitely fits the bill.

Excellent Chinese hamburgers, beef soup noodles, big plate chicken, mapo tofu that was properly spicy! Everything is served in togo containers but don't let that deter you from eating inside since the food is so good hot and fresh ?
