Bidrage med feedbackI love Hayward farmers. I used to go every Saturday mornings but have gotten busy during the holidays. A year or so ago the fruits/veggies were super affordable e.g. $2 for Chinese broccoli, lettuce etc... but recently prices have gone up with inflation. I still think some veggies/fruits are much better price than going to grocery store and much fresher. E.g. Thai basil bunch during peak season is $2 and it comes with tons and tons of basil. I can never finish them all so I share with family. You'll find hard to find Asian produce such as Thai eggplant, variety of basil, different types of mushrooms, etc. The vendors are super friendly as well. Parking is via street or in the parking garage which is right on farmer's market. I do miss the flower vendor that used to be here they probably found another more lucrative location. Otherwise, great farmers with fresh produce and variety of items.
Nice location lots of parking. Street is closed during the market so safe to bring kids out. Variety of vendors in good but would love to see more. There are even booths for food if your hungry after shopping for your fruits and vegetables.
Love love this group of farmers and local business owners. I come here almost every weekend now since moving to Hayward and my experience has awesome every time. Love getting my apples from the two older gentlemen (they're so lovely). Though it's a little smaller than others, I still love how intimate it is.
The hayward farmers market is a fun and lively way to start the weekend. you can grab a bite, browse the bounty of fruits and veggies, hear live music and bask in the morning to afternoon warmth. offerings vary weekly. there's plenty of farmers selling seasonal produce. then there's the ready to eat foods/beverages like lemonade, coffee, baked goods, toast, hummus, tamales, etc. there's also a handful of handmade or homemade goods like soap, spice blends, jewelry. conveniently located in downtown and within walking distance of the bart station, shops, restaurants, the library, post office, and city hall. misc: -free and ample parking on the street or in the garage -dogs/pets not allowed in the market -ebt/food stamps accepted (just need to exchange at the booth for tokens)
My new favorite farmers market in the area. I checked out Bayfair and Castro Valley locations both are nice but Hayward location had a great energy to it. Came around 10 am and found street parking. The lively music set the mood to browse and shop. Got an iced coffee and made my way down the aisles. Theres many warm and friendly vendors. Also, take a card as payment which is nice for someone like me who tend to overspend...and lots and lots of samples! The fruits I got were sweet and delicious. I stopped by the food vendor tents and had to grab tamales, pot stickers and southern food to go.
