Harbor House Seafood - Hatteras

You will not find a friendlier person on Hatteras than Vicki. We were warmly greeted when we visited to pick up steamed spiced shrimp, hush puppies and potatoes. She even threw in some sausage which was such a nice gesture. Our food was excellent and the prices can't be beat. What a gem! Please visit and support this wonderful business! I only wish we had found this place sooner!

Still just as good. They sell what they catch and a few other local things like shrimp and clams. This year did a boil, it was next level. Could not recommend a place enough.

We ordered a low-country boil for THIRTY people. I was a bit hesitant ordering that much seafood for pickup, afraid certain items might overcook in storage/transport. I'm here to tell you that everything was absolutely delicious! Each item was piping hot, perfectly cooked, with wonderful flavor. The spice level was perfect as well. It was flavorful out of the pot, but not too spicy for those that like it mild. We were given plenty of extra spice on the side for the spice lovers among us. Vicky was so gracious and helpful guiding me through all my options. We were a large party, but this place caters to smaller needs as well. Harbor House has made it onto our list of places we will stop every visit to Hatteras. From the service to the seafood, this place is top notch!

After eating some so-so seafood, we asked some locals where they went to get great seafood and they all said Harbor House Seafood at Hatteras Village. THEY WERE RIGHT!!! We got there late on a Saturday afternoon not long before they closed but there was no hesitation to take our order. The owner is an absolute delight-so friendly and welcoming. She made some suggestions and we got crab, shrimp, clams in the shell, hush puppies, clam strips and all the fixin's (delicious homemade cocktail sauce, clarified butter, homemade shrimp dip and homemade yellow fin tuna salad). Everything was fantastic. It will be my first stop when I go back. She cooks everything for you but you have to take it to go because there is no place to eat there. You will not find fresher, tastier seafood in the Outer Banks!

We requested a seafood boil a week and a half before we were going down. We didn't realize that they were now closed on Saturday, as this was our first time ever ordering from them. Vicki called and confirmed our order, and let us know that they were now closed but they would still cook our boil and it would be ready at our requested time. I offered to change days to make it easier, but she said they were pretty heavily booked for one of the other days we had asked about, so she agreed to make our boil for Saturday. We so appreciate this business, and the seafood boil was AMAZING! We all raved about it for hours, and are still raving about it today. Thank you, thank you, thank YOU! We will definitely be coming back, as we frequent the island every month.
