Something interesting happens as well. The main flavor of the burger, besides salt and seasonings, is carried in oil and fat. This is why people love French fries, potato chips, and that bread filling that makes this burger so rich and flavorful. The edges have a nice char, but the center is more sponge and fat than can be handled. All that fat contributes to its fame. They are rich and filling for hours. If you are not used to them, you may not enjoy them. But for those of us who grew up here, this is a hamburger. If you leave, you'll be craving another one!

You have to love it! Willie Burgers may not be everyone's cup of tea. It's a taste that I believe you have to acquire over time. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a try! I echo the sentiments of the previous reviewer who recommended ordering it "all the way" with the red spice mix added.
