Richmond Dairy Bar - Harmony

Every trip to PEI involves a stop at the Richmond Dairy Bar. This stop involved a meal and then ice cream. The meal is your everyday canteen quality food. I wouldn't rush back to have it, I wouldn't make sure to add it into next...years itinerary as an eating spot but I would go back for the ice cream. The ice cream is excellent! I had ordered a banana split and even with a softer than normal banana it was great! My brother in-law got the same and he agreed, the banana was warm and soft.

My family and I were in need of some Chinese food so we stumbled across this small, family owned restaurant.

To some degree all the dairy bars in PEI are similar. The Richmond dairy bar offers the usual great soft ice cream. All the rest of the food is well done. Nothing fancy here, but there aren't too many choices in the west and this one never disappoints. The place hasn't changed much in many many years....part of the charm.

Go for the ice cream!!! Chocolate dipped cones! My husband says the poutine is good too - the fries are just mcCain and not that great though in my opinion.

I guess choosing something else from ice cream in an ice cream counter is what it gives. We took the popcorn chicken, it was good. But the accompaniment wasn't really. peas, carrots and a piece of wet bread... and fries not good while we are on the island of the patate. bof.
