Bidrage med feedbackThis place is a small fish and chip joint. We got their on a Saturday around 6:30 pm and decided to eat in. While our order was being prepared we watches people streaming in and out picking up their orders. We had the haddock and it was the best I have had in a long time. It is now my go to for fish and chips.
They have a very good menu with good selection besides fish and chips. The fish was not at all greasy as were the chips. Prices were reasonable and the owner was very friendly.
Thought we'd beat the Good Friday crowd for fish and chips and we did. Ordered Haddock and Cod with chips and they were both very good. You could tell that they were stock piling the fish and chips for the upcoming late afternoon crowd. Have been in that lineup before, but enjoyed talking to other "line mates". Met people I had not seen in years. There was free coffee and sometimes Easter eggs as well. The staff are very friendly and pretty efficient. Even saw that they have All You Can Eat Fish and chips on Tuesdays for $10. What a deal, if you can eat a lot. Will come back to this place.
They were very busy when we walked in @3:00pm on Good Friday. It did not make our wait go any faster despite my mother-in-law (who is a regular) calling in the day before. We waited like everyone else. The fish was pre-made and sitting under heat lamp. They need another fryer because the orders were back up due lack of fries. We waited 50minutes. Not happy. My mother-in-law really like their fish n'chips. Maybe on a regular day they would be ok. Our fish was little dry ( sitting under heat lamp too long). I will give them another try on a non-holiday day.
Our daughter has visited this restaurnat over the last little while so we decided to go there last week. It was a take out order of large proportions! We had been warned that the portions were large so we ordered one order of fish and chips with two pieces of fish. Once home, we split the meal and both of us were amply filled at the end. No kidding, the two pieces of fish were each over 12 inches long (30 cm for the younger set!) and done in a delicious batter. As I was waiting for our order I noticed the chalk menu board listed meat pies and other typical British fare. Haven't tasted them yet but, based on the fish and chips, I am ready to try them. The restaurant is small with about eight tables for four covered in colourful plastic table cloths. The staff is friendly and talkative and relates well to customers. There is also a small card which will aloow you a free meal after you have bought several others. Parking is outside and the lot of the small mall next door is available if needed.
