Eiscafé San Remo - Hamburg

Great location, with many places in the open. services were friendly, everything tasted super. they like to come back.

The coffee tasted good and strong, the cake with the strawberries was ok. Unfortunately, in this eiscafé it is not possible to pay with Ec card.

Note: The following events happened in German but I will share this in English. I have severe peanuts allergies and always carry medicine with me. Other nuts do not give me allergies.I randomly went to this place with a friend and we decided to order cake and ice cream. I checked the menu to ensure my cup did not contain peanuts - nothing said it did, so I ordered it. When the cup of ice cream arrived (several scoops with a lot of cream and some biscuits, looked delicious!) I tasted it and immediately realized that the little sparkles on the ice cream where actually peanuts. I took medicines right away and we kindly asked the (male) waiter to take it back and bring me another one, as I was very allergic and nothing on the menu said it contained peanuts. He was very rude and unhappy about it but took it back (Strike 1). And then, he came back with a new cup. And wait for it - HE BROUGHT ME A CUP THAT CONTAINED A SCOOP OF PEANUT ICE CREAM - AFTER WE TOLD HIM I WAS HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO PEANUTS! Which I realized of course after eating some of it again - something I'm NEVER supposed to do (Strike 2).This time my friend took it to the kitchen and explained it to the female waitress, who was nice about it and prepared a new cup - without peanuts for the first time. The waiter was, again, super rude to me when bringing it. After that, we asked to pay and leave and he complained out loud to his colleague about the tip (Strike 3). Tip is not mandatory, not in case of poor service, which it wasn't even in this case: it was life-threatening-poor service in my case. All in all an unbelievable experience. I left the place with a medium allergic reaction, which could have been worse had I not noticed the peanuts in the first and second cups right away and not taken medicines right away. I could have ended up in the hospital - or worse.

A road from the river aster, on the (sometimes) quiet colonnaden, this ice salon offers a good choice of ice creams and some cakes/cakes also for reasonable price for the opposite, with proper service and sit both inside and outdoors.
