Bidrage med feedbackIf you're in the area and looking for a quick bite to eat during a walk, Oakham Bites is a convenient option. They offer food and hot drinks, but in all honesty, our experience was quite average. We found the burgers to be of poor quality. While it served its purpose for a quick meal, we wouldn't recommend going out of your way to eat here.
I would advise against ordering the burgers at this restaurant. They are very thin, low-quality, and mushy, with hard gristle throughout. The price does not match the poor quality of the burgers. I was extremely disappointed with my meal.
This cafe is fantastic. The staff/owners are incredibly welcoming and always greet you with a smile. I began coming here after losing my father when I was feeling isolated and down. Now, I visit every week with my dog Shadow - it has become our Sunday ritual. I always order the bacon baguette (truly the best) and Shadow never misses out on his sausage.
I lost my direction on a visit to Ockham and ended up on the Boldrewood car park rather than the Pond car park where my car was . I decided to have a tea and after a long while looking at the board a jumbo sausage roll too. Total cost was £4.70 £1.50 for the tea and £3.20 for the sausage roll . The chap was pleasant enough, the tea was hot albeit in a polystyrene cup and the sausage roll adequately warmed. He did say that he had to take care warming the rolls due to the pastry. It's a tea stand in a car park on the edge of a heathland and I've assessed it against that standard. It's ok. If I was passing and needed a tea I'd happily call in again.
Stopped after walking dog around the heath. Bacon roll OK (not sure about best in area though) but latte was not drinkable. It was scented with something and they just said it was an instant latte. Not helpful as it was not coffee nor drinkable, shame as puts one off going back. Not overly friendly service
