Poplar Avenue Fish N Chip Shop

This place is perfect for a laid-back lunch or afternoon treat. The food was delicious and stayed hot. The wedges were a standout. I look forward to coming back and experiencing more of the great customer service. Thank you!

The fish was terrible, the batter was awful. The scallops seemed processed and they cost $3 each! I will never come back to this restaurant again. If I had bought them myself, I would have returned them.

Recently, I purchased steamed dim sims from this shop and unfortunately, they seemed to have been overcooked. The exterior was a dull yellowish color and the filling appeared to be pink. They were not edible. Additionally, there was a sign claiming that they sell South Melbourne Market dim sims, but that was not the case. The individual working at the shop was not wearing a mask.

This place is competent but not spectacular. I have experienced both good and indifferent service based on the level of busyness; friends of mine have had a similar experience. Hard to go too wrong with fried foods and they offer a good selection, but don't go if you're in a big hurry.

Get fish and chips there often in the winter. Always good quality and quick service. Staff very friendly. Is take away but always a nice experience .
