Bidrage med feedbackThe owner was very rude to us severa times, the drinks are expensive and the food is bad. Avoid this place at all costs.
We were wandering around in the evening after a long day of touring and decided to take a chance on Mexican. Having lived in Texas for 25 years, we weren't expecting authentic, but it was pretty good. Tequila drinks were solid, guacamole and chips good too. Burrtos and fajitas were comparable to middle of the road Tex-Mex (though not as much heat, jalapenos weren't that fierce). Only big surprise was at the end when they told us they don't take credit cards (unlike everybody else, and no signage to warn patrons), plus they added a 19% gratuity. Fortunately we had cash on hand.
I visited this place with several friends. The place is fine with very good service. Menu is mostly snack type food and NOT 100% Mexican. I will call it Tex-Mex. The drinks are good and they do have good tequila (Don Julio). Prices are reasonable.
...is the motto you can apply on that place. On our first trip to Frankfurt my mates and I stumbled by chance past that little Mexican bar somewhat tucked away and not as present as its neighbors. We had spent the day sightseeing and were parched. As drinking alcohol early does not make you an alcoholic but a pirate, respectively a bandits we ordered beers to rehydrate and just get of our feet for a while. It turned out to be a good long while until closing time. We had a fantastic time and as the evening progressed we ended up doing some serious partying. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. If your German is good enough and you are quick witted you should try to engage in some quick banter with one of the waiters there (has got an extraordinary voice). You most likely loose but pi yourself with laughter. In general it seems that the team has fun working and actually really enjoy hosting their guests. The guests are an eclectic mix of every way of life (suits, students, hipsters, bob average, bikers, workman, artists, musicians, rich, broke, alcoholics, ... Surprisingly all having a good time together and not getting into regular fights. This is sure down to that relaxed atmosphere of that place. The bar is very well sorted with most poisons of your choice. They have an impressive collection of Gins to taste and of course Tequilas. You like Cocktails? Happy hour will make you very happy. The food we liked as well. It is very tasty, tending towards Tex-Mex and moderately priced. I recommend the burgers and nachos con queso with guacamole. My mates seemed to enjoy there fachitas as well the way they stuffed their faces. Tequila is one of these bars that have been around for ages and will stay around for generations to come. Women can feel save there, music is good and various, there is no aggravation just a good place to relax or party. During our stay in Frankfurt we came back a few times. Has the place downsides? Maybe it has but we enjoyed ourselves to much to notice.
We stumbled upon this mexican restaurant on accident. We were headed to Medici, and we looked in the window and everyone at Medici was in fancy dresses and blazers, not what we were in the mood for. So we went to Tequila. I had the best on-the-rocks margarita (actually I think I had 3). Fajitas were delicious, as were the nachos. It's a bit dark and noisy, but they accommodated us 4 adults and small child. Even let us move tables in the middle (so we didn't have to sit at a high-top with a 4 yr old). The owner, or manager, was very nice, funny and helpful. Will definitely go back, even just for the margarita.
