Sotirio's Bar And Restaurant

We visited a birthday meal, the greeting we got was fantastic, the staff could not have done better. our starters of halloumi were excellent, generous portions and delicious. my man grew up on cyprus, so we knew what we wanted, kleftiko for me and moussaka for my man and here was where we were disappointed, while my kleftiko was delicious, the moussaka had hardly any bechamel sauce or aubergine, both our salads had no dressing and very small olives of feta, as not as expected. my man wanted baklava for dessert, he was a little taken back, it was served with ice, but that was slightly sorted, but he was really disappointed that there was no Greek coffee on the menu, he really wanted what he always considered to be a real end of his meal. the restaurant is beautiful, beautifully illuminated, large tables, space between tables to give something private sphere, but it seems an English idea what should be a Greek restaurant. would I recommend this restaurant absolutely. would I say it was an authentic Greek culinary experience? unfortunately no. I know the stereotypical Greek restaurant is disintegrated, loud, etc. and that was not what we wanted, the ambiente is wonderful, but eating, while tasty lacks the authenticity of the right Greek cuisine.

Fantastic eating as usual. really enjoyed the waygu burger and chips. beautiful atmosphere of friendly and genuine hostess. also really impressed with the selection of zero alcohol drinks including wine, gin and beer. a perfect night with family.

The eating was wonderful had 3 courses, including the special of the day. personal friendly and attentive, without being overlaid. what is refreshing tables in a reasonable distance so that they can chat moderately without meeting. decor and whole ambiente beautiful, perfect for a great lunch or dinner or this special occasion.

As usual, eating and service in sotirios is the second in folkestone. there were 3 of us to lunch and we all had a nice relaxed meal. can not recommend this place very much.

Made to feel very welcome on arrival. Pleasant, helpful staff. Will be back!
