Red Lion - Fareham

I have previously given this restaurant good reviews, but unfortunately, my experience this time was not as good. When we arrived for our New Year's Eve lunch, we were not warmly welcomed by the female staff member who showed us to our table. She was borderline rude. We ordered our steaks medium to well done, but unfortunately mine was clearly rare and my husband's was only slightly better. He decided to eat his anyway. I called a staff member over, and my meal was taken back and a fresh one was presented. That was fine, but I felt uncomfortable when the chef came out on her way to the bar and gave me a hard stare, as did other staff members. Overall, with the subpar meal and poor service, we will not be returning any time soon, which is a shame. We usually spend over £80 on lunches, but we will be taking our business elsewhere in the future as it is clear we are not welcome at this establishment.

The food at this restaurant is delicious, and the dessert is also exceptional. The staff is friendly. I have visited this place multiple times before, and each experience has been delightful.

We stayed here for 2 night although we didn’t eat there. The staff on arrival were very friendly. The room was lovely and had everything we needed, even an iron and board. I would definitely stay there again

Staying in the hotel it’s self and won’t be eating down stairs again! Stay away from The mushy peas!

Lovely food great gluten free options. Had the festive menu, very nice reasonably priced. Staff as always very nice.
