Bidrage med feedbackFun! My friends I went to Food Truck Mania on a whim with little knowledge beforehand. All we knew is that parking would be tricky, so we parked at my coworker's house in a nearby neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised with the turnout by both vendors and patrons for a midweek event in Old Elk Grove! There were about 10 trucks they represented just about every popular type of food--burgers, Filipino, fair fare, Mexican, BBQ, ice cream, halal. There were also a few non-food vendors (crafts, a produce delivery service, and BloodSource! The event was mellow--a singer with a fun set list (and no mic feedback or booming speakers! , lots of families. There were two long rows of tables and chairs and I felt that was sufficient for the crowd, especially because they put out bar tables for people to stand around. There were enough trashcans for the grounds to stay clean, though everyone picked up after themselves. Overall, it was a nice event that I would happily attend again!
Been to three other Food truck events at other locations around the Sacto area. All of them were in nice parks with grass, and plenty of shade. Bounce houses for the kids, good live music, and even beer garden areas for adults. Easy to spend a few hours, just kicking back and having fun. Elk Grove has to be the worst! Set up in a hot gravel parking lot right next to train tracks, loud trains, no shade, no beer garden, and some dude playing boring acoustic guitar for entertainment. People were just eating their food, and leaving. Elk Grove insists on having nearly all of their events in this hot parking lot. Plenty of nice parks in E.G. that would be better locations!
First time trying the Elk Grove food truck event a couple weeks ago. We tried Rudys hideaway, they have amazing steak tacos, the sauce that they put on it was finger licking tasty!! We will be coming back to try more for sure!!
I must say that this is a pretty cool little venue that Elk Grove has going on. When it first started there were a TON of people. It seems like it has died down a little which I think is good for business because the lines aren't nearly as long the second time around. The pricing is also a little crazy, but I guess you are paying more for the novelty of it, right? And don't come too hungry unless you don't mind spending a lot of money. They had live music which was great. The atmosphere is a lot of fun and family oriented which is nice. Face painting and balloon guy for the kids. I wish I had gotten some pictures, but trying to keep track of our 1 yr old was a chore. The selection of food is really nice as well so you can't go wrong there. I just wish there was more seating and it wasn't so darn expensive, but that wouldn't stop me from coming once in a while as a treat.
Love our local food trucks.. Always something yummy to eat! I had chandos mulitas and mini burger's cowbell and sweet potato tots today.. And for dessert my all time favorite... Local kine shaved ice.. Watermelon flavored .. Mmmmmm full and lazy now lol
