Mcdonald's Restaurants - Elgin

I had breakfast at 4:30 AM during a three-hour drive to our destination. The restaurant wasn't too busy, and we quickly found a parking spot. Instead of using the app, we ordered at the touchscreen inside, which was convenient. Our food was ready in just 10 minutes, and there were plenty of empty, clean tables. I also needed to use the restroom, which was well-maintained. The food was hot, and everything we wanted was available. Overall, we were very satisfied!

I requested no tomatoes, but there were two large, juicy ones in the box, despite my request. The food was also ice cold, and the texture was tough and unchewable. Today was really disappointing.

The service was consistently poor. I ordered a chicken meal, but a week later I received a large cup filled with ice, with no drink in it. Items were missing from my order, my food arrived cold, and I received warm McFlurrys. Custom orders were treated like regular ones. The place was a complete mess.

It seems there have been quite a few staff and possibly management changes, and the service is currently at its worst in quite some time. I used to stop by McDonald's in the morning for a quick coffee, and the drive-thru was usually fast and efficient. However, it's now taking forever to get through. Cars are backed up, and the staff is extremely slow, to the point where I’ve decided it’s no longer worth going there for coffee.

Once we entered the restaurant, we placed our order, picked up our food, and settled down to enjoy our meal. The establishment was spotless, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. We indulged in a variety of chicken dishes, including nuggets, salad, fries, as well as hot and cold beverages, all of which were prepared to perfection. Although we arrived early, as we were heading to a date, by the time we left, there was a long line outside filled with young people, likely students, which speaks to the restaurant's popularity. If you're in a rush, it might be smart to avoid busy times or use the app to place your order in advance to skip the lines at the service counter. They pay close attention to the details, making this one of the best McDonald's around.
