Hogs Breath - East Maitland

Met friends for lunch and a long overdue catch up here and while Hogs Breath is one of my favourite restaurants in Sydney, I found the service and quality at this franchise to be very average

Food is great, atmosphere is great & the service is great. We as a family of 4+ have eaten at hogs quite often & always enjoy our meals.

My husband and i decided to give this place another go . We shouldn't have bothered . Staff were lovely . The food ? What a let down . The baked potato tasted and looked like last weeks offerings and the over cooked water logged veggies were not any better. Prime rib ? Very fatty and I've had lots better elsewhere. Very overpriced especially as I left over half my steak and all veggies on the plate . Very hit and miss . Won't bother next time with this one .

Visited Hogs Breath the day after Valentine's Day and expected the place to be quiet but there was a huge number of people dining. We were quickly shown to our seats and a short time later Charlie took our order. Drinks arrived and were cold. Might sound like a strange thing to say but I have been served warmish Coca Cola before, not from here but other places. Entree was quick and cooked perfectly. Mains arrived and again were perfectly cooked. My 18 hour slow cooked blackened prime rib simply melted in my mouth. Seriously I could have cut it with a coaster it was that good. The Cajun topping gave it some bite but was not over powering, it was perfect. My fries and mash potato again was excellent. My wife's Chicken Caesar wrap was delicious, or so I was told. Usually my wife is full and leaves some behind but this time it was demolished off with nothing left on the plate. All through this Charlie ensured we were fine and that the meals were good and that our drinks were fine. All done with a smile and a pleasant manner. I am very happy with our visit and will be back soon for more.

Went out for lunch with friends. Food was hot and tasty. Waited a reasonable time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of young families dining at the same time. Noted staff bought colouring pencils and books for the kids. Nice meal
