Bidrage med feedbackLocated north of Brooks Alberta, we discovered a locally owned dining house with juicy high-quality burgers and freshly cut frits. We had just driven through a short but intense rainhail storm, so the owners were welcome.
We ate twice on the way from Medicine Hat to Calgary. The owner has a good choice and good food!
This restaurant is located opposite the sunrise inn (formerly the stage coach inn.) the owner is a one-man show that waits and takes care of the controls, as well as the cooking art. he was very friendly and attentive, and eating. was excellent! true house style cooking in a small alberta village. the life will not be much more relaxed than that. would highly recommend
We were in the opposite for another business and considered here to be lunch based on the reviews here on trip advisor. we were not disappointed. in the rule when I order to these smaller places I order a burger because most places can cook a passable burger and. there is something to compare with others. I had the double bacon cheeseburger and it was excellent. probably the second best burger I had all summer. the only thing it was from the first was the bungalow. I like a soft potato type bread, this was a dense full wheat style bread. it was okay, but not my favorite. the seasoned were excellent, the seasoned were well proportional and it was well cooked. the meat was cooked, but still moist and juicy. the service was also good. I will put the definitiw on my lists for the next trip on this wise.
I have lived in this area for several years and now it's time to finally write a review for a very well deserved local restaurant. Duchess is a favorite place for travelers to stop for fuel and food as it is the last town on...the way to Dinosaur Provincial Park only about 25 minutes to the east for those coming from the west. Outback is the place where I would recommend grabbing a meal when traveling to or from Dino Park above any other restaurant along the way. I have eaten at Outback a few times now and each time the service is good and the food excellent. In my conversation with the owner, he and his wife had extensive food service experience before opening this place and I can tell. The restaurant is clean, modern, and simply yet tastefully decorated and its small size is deceptive because I counted room for 28 people. On a hot July late afternoon it was also comfortable to sit in. From my extensive dining experience in general and in this area in particular, the quality of food you get at Outback combined with the great value is better than anywhere else in this area, including Brooks.
