Bidrage med feedbackOn the last day of the year, my life clock was half a century. Since the kids are already big, they have little pleasure and time to celebrate with their dad on such a day. For me, this is not a problem, I spent the evening with friends at a dinner show with our favorite Rock ́n Roll Band the “The Firebirds” in Dresden, swinging the dance leg and hitting some of the back years of life. Now it was time to go with my girls and the incoming son-in-law at least once. Since almost all gastronomy was still in the New Year's sleep at the village, I extended my feelers back to Dresden, and was added to the “Watzke am Ring”. Watzke am Ring This is one of four Watzke houses here in the city. Located directly in the center, this house is one of the brewhouses with typical brewhouse dishes and therefore always quite full. Just next door is the “Watzke Sausage Kitchen” which specializes exclusively in sausages of all kinds. Today was Wednesday, and this day is “Schnitzeltag” in the Watzke on the Ring, so ideal for our son-in-law. But even after the defensive Christmas slumber, I once again liked normal, petty-bourgeois cuisine. A table for us five was therefore reserved online in advance, the confirmation came a few minutes later by email. In the evening we went to the big city by car. Parking possibilities as always and as everywhere in the center are limited, but we were joined on our main square and ran to the local. Here we were received by a lady, and after our reservation was checked, we were brought to our table. This was housed in a niche, and more suitable for four instead of 5 people, because it was quite close. Otherwise, nothing has changed since our last visit here two years ago. After we had also stowed our jackets, the menus were handed to us. A short look into the beverage list, and at least here we knew what we want. Beverages: · 3x 0.4ér Coca Cola for 4,90 € · 1x 0.33ér Coca Cola Zero for 3,80 € · 2x 0.5ér Alt Pieschener Special for 4,90 € Now we had the opportunity to study the menu. Each of the three Watzke houses has a different menu. Saxon specialities are present in all houses, but so the Watzke concentrates on the Golden Rider around the Broiler, the main house around the Haxe, and the Watzke on the ring is written by the freshly smoked and the Schnitzel. In all Verdruss, there is not only a so-called “monat beer”, there is also a so-called “Watzke Week” where other specialties are offered every day. Here in the Watzke on the Ring is then the Day of Räucher, the Day of Massbier, the Day of Hackepeter, or even Wednesdays of the Schnitzeltag. Included specialties are given an inclusive beer for a cheaper price. We had decided, and as our drinks were on the place, we could order: appetizers: · 2x bread basket with pulp, baguette and bread, with our homemade onion pulp for each 6,90 € · 1x honeycocks soljanka with lettuce 0.3 l Watzke beer for 18,90 € · 2x Beef Ribs smoked and sous Vide cooked, with a homemade American barbecue sauce, small mixed salad and garlic baguette for 30,90 € Now we were able to enjoy the fresh and damn delicious Alt Pieschener special, the speciality of the Watzke brewhouse, because our appetizers needed 20 minutes to 20 minutes. APS Alt Pieschener Spezial The ladies wanted nothing warm today than an appetizer, so it should only be the bread basket with pulp, baguette and treber bread with onion shmalt. A little disappointment occurred with the girls, they had hoped to get a warm pulp, because it is also offered individually. Too bad. Bread basket with bread, baguette and bread, with our homemade onion The bright baguette and the treber bread were fresh and pleasantly soft. The homemade onion scarf well tempered so that it could be spread well on the fresh bread. Tastefully it could have been a bit more depressing. Bread basket with bread, baguette and bread, with our homemade onion scarf I had imagined the Soljanka. The Soljanka was served here in a large glass. From the crowd it was good and liked to have a big lunch sterol full. Luckily my two daughters merciful and helped me to shove. The Soljanka was boiling hot, so I love a soup. Otherwise, it was well made with plenty of small salami pieces as well as onion, peppers and spices. We still have hunting sausages at home. The Soljanka was mildly dressed, and I have already eaten noticeably more hearty, sharper Soljankas. Personally, the herbal garlic scarf didn't fit me, because in a Soljanka no garlic has to be found. But tastes are different. Soljanka with herbal garlic scarf Man noticed this is full house despite Wednesday night, because our main dishes came to our table after 40 minutes. In doing so, the operators constantly rushed through the restaurant, and in between time and time again wondered whether something is desired. Since our son-in-law likes to eat Schnitzel for his life, it had to be the Schnitzel with the Watzke beer for the Schnitzeltag. Disillusion widened when he had stood before him. There was nothing to see from price advantage to other carvings. Carving day fresh pork carving according to “Wiener Art”, with defensive roast potatoes incl. 0.3 l Watzke Beer A chop of roast potatoes, a carving that was. No other supplement. So here one had simply saved the supplement and there was a beer for it. You can save yourself. Also qualitatively it was not so special. While the scavenger shimmered from the outside with a good, crispy panade, it was simply dry inside, only the fat of the frying/pan dripping down. somehow the plate looks empty here missing something similar the roast potatoes. They were dressed with fresh onion, but they were looking for bacon tunes in vain. Also, the potatoes were too pappy/soft and also too fat. Too bad. Fresh pork carving in semmelbröseln paniert, in butter swung princess beans with bacon cubes and defensive roast potatoes My wife had also prescribed herself to the carving, but the “normal” from the menu. Their experience with carvings and roast potatoes was just like the son-in-law. Your opinion: that was nothing! Only the prince's beans were good. Even nicely crisp in the bite and with plenty of Bacon cubes. Fresh pork carving in semmelbröseln paniert, in butter swung princess beans with bacon cubes and defensive roast potatoes Better it had caught our big with their chicken breast with a spinach fresh cheese filling. Two rolls wrapped with crispy Bacon were on top. Filled with spicy spinach and cheese they tasted excellent. And even through this filling the chicken breast roll was not dry at all. The fried red, yellow and green paprika was fried until bit and dressed with dried tomato. A wonderful Mediterranean vegetables. The sweet potato puree is of course a matter of taste, our daughter tasted it. Delicate chicken breast with a spinach fresh cheese filling wrapped with homemade bacon from the Watzke Sausage kitchen to butter-swung paprika with dried tomato on sweet potato puree The little and my little had it on the Beef Ribs. Otherwise, the ribs were well smoked, and sous Vide cooked, i.e. cooked under vacuum. Here looks quite nicely the fat out The supplements salad from fresh, crunchy salad, cucumber and paprika tasted amazingly good for the season. Only the corn from the dose did not fit quite. At all, the fur-dry garlic baguette did not fit. It was neatly roasted in a lot of garlic oil, but so dry that I had three quarters of this baguette lying on the plate. Daughters didn't change. Beef Ribs smoked and sous Vide cooked, with a homemade American barbecue sauce, small mixed salad and garlic baguette After one and a three-quarter hour we were finished, and thought to go to the close cinema. Milli Vanilli greeted. Our conclusion: we left five 151,26 € in the Watzke on the Ring. Today with very mixed performance, we were rather dissatisfied with the dishes. We know that's better than that. The staff was significantly better here than in the neighboring Wurts kitchen.

Our two girls make Munich (report follows) insecure, and tonight we are supposed to pick them up from Dresdner Hauptbahnhof, because otherwise there are no ways to get to Oberlausitzer province on Sunday night. Since her train should be at the train station at 7 pm and we still have a three-quarter hour to the traditional house, I decided with my wife that we want to go to dinner with our girls in Dresden. The „Watzke Brauereiausschank am Ring“ lies between the main railway station and the old market, at the end of the shopping street in Prague and right next to the shopping brand Altmarktgalerie. The name Watzke has become the epitome of the local brewery in Dresden, so Watzke Imperium has three other locations in the city centre next to the main building in Pieschen, the “Ball and Brauhaus Watzke”. Thus there is the “Watzke Brauereiausschank am Golden Reiter”, the “Watzke Sausage am Ring” and also the “Watzke Brauereiausschank am Ring”. All four localities try to exist in addition to the existing other brewhouses that have become much more lately. The Watzke Brauereiausschank am Ring is very easy to reach with the tracks of the DVB, the four-wheeled subset can be removed either in the Altmarktgalerie or on the free spaces next to Karstadt. We had reserved for 19:30 and were already longing. According to the waiter we are the last ordered customers for this day. The recently introduced 2G rules make gastronomy difficult to create. Our current vaccination status was first checked at the entrance, then two different tables were offered to us. We took place in a small niche of the restaurant and had everything in mind. They sit here on discrete modern chairs that are pleasantly padded. The corresponding tables seemed too small for 4 people. Along the walls and in the niches there are larger tables and large, comfortable and particularly lushly padded leather benches. There you can spend an evening with the brewed beers. The walls are covered with dark wood and are full of beer utensils. In each corner a large monitor flickers with the latest Watzke messages. Watzkes Monthly beer In addition, tables are arranged throughout the local area, which award the current special offers. During the warmer season in front of the restaurant is still a large beer garden, which is still full and from which you can watch the busy driving around the shopping center Dresden. Wtzke at the ring in summer is the beer garden before it is well filled We were brought to us by the young, strong waiter and asked for the drinks. We first discussed some time, and we stumbled on the map. After our drinks were fixed, our waiter immediately returned to the place and accepted the drinks at least once. For example, as drinks it should be first: · 1x 0.5ér Specific for 3,90 € · 1x 0.5ér homemade lemonade with thyme for 4,90 € · 1x 0.5ér Watzke Altpieschner Special for 4,10 € · 1x 0.5ér Monthly beer – the Watzke Rotbier for 4,10 € After only 10 minutes our Watzke Braus specialities and the soft drinks were in place. 1x 0.5ér Spezifisch for 3,90 €, 1x 0.5ér homemade lemonade with thyme for 4,90 €, 1x 0.5ér Watzke Altpieschner Special for 4,10 €, 1x 0.5ér Monthly beer – the Watzke Rotbier for 4,10 € While the Altpieschner Special was a hop flowery, fine-hearted, uncooked full beer with a light red caramel The Watzke Beers explains The homemade lemonade was pleasant and slightly sweet, with a strong hint of Thymian. In the meantime we were finished with our wishes for our dishes. Excerpt from the menu Extract from the menu So we ordered as starters: · 2x Watzkes potato soup according to Saxon recipe with lots of root, leave bacon cubes, fresh herbs and roasted sausage slices for each 4,90 € · 1x Deftige goulash soup with beef, potatoes, paprika and beans, rounded with fresh herbs and a Klecks herbal soup The potato soup by Watzke was the way we know it in Saxony. A steaming, thick, creamy and pleasantly hearty soup, which was provided with small bacon cubes and with many roasted Viennese sausage slices from their own sausage kitchen. Two slices of fresh black bread. So really is a Saxon potato soup, and better I don't understand. Delicious. Watzke potato soup according to Saxon recipe with many roots, leave bacon cubes, fresh herbs and fried sausage slices for every 4,90 € The defensive Goulash soup in wake glass stood in nothing the Saxon potato soup. Difficult goulash soup in glass with beef, potatoes, peppers and beans, rounded with fresh herbs and a Klecks herbs garlic candy for 5,50 € As I love, slightly chopped beef goulash with small potato cubes, pepper pieces and beans dressed, all in a thick, spicy, slightly sharp sauce. Difficult goulash soup in jars with beef, potatoes, peppers and beans, rounded with fresh herbs and Kleck's herbs garlic candy for 5,50 € On top a strong Kleck's herbs garlic candy that had earned this name honestly. Here too were two slices of fresh black bread, which was also necessary at the end of the soup to neutralize the sharpness somewhat. So it must. abundant spices in the goulash soup 20 minutes after our appetizers came our main foods. That's what our food doesn't get out of the ping. The plates are refilled. My wife wished the rusty meat of Watzke and was not disappointed. Two thick slices of well-growing sponge, which was seasoned pleasantly and roasted exactly on the spot, were garnished with a huge pile of rash onions that were refined with fresh pores. The onions also had a light caramel taste, suggesting that the onions were safely tasted in Altpieschen's special beer. In addition, there were roast potatoes according to Mother's Art. Crispy roasted, with lots of bacon and onion and degreased. A white spice carrot salad was served here as a supplement. Just delicious, so Saxon cuisine. Watzke's rust-brät ́l with homemade ruffles, white cabbage carrot salad, dressed on defigen brat potatoes for 14,50 € My smoked haxen meat did nothing to the rust roast, and my wife's jealous eyes confirmed that. The well seasoned meat of a witch was prepared here with lots of onions, and for me soßenheini was sufficient with Majoran beer sauce. Smoked witch meat with onions in Majoran beer sauce, with white cabbage salad and roasted potatoes for 14,90 € Here again the roasted potatoes of mothers, crispy roasted, with lots of bacon and onion and degrunt seasoned. There's water in the mouth. A white herb of carrot salad was also added to my haxen meat. Whether it's homemade or comfortable, I can't say. Smoked witch meat with onions thrown in Majoran beer sauce, with white herbal carrot salad and roast potatoes for 14.90 € As our children from three days Munich now had the nose full of witches, cheese parrots and co, they decided to be a little less eclig here. The Great was looking forward to her flashcake in Alsace and was not disappointed either. A huge flame cake with a thinly liquid dough, thick coated with a hearty herbs garlic scarf and additionally covered with a lot of spicy cheese, fresh rags and onions and even more fried bacon cubes. For a long time I haven't eaten a better flame cake (at least in Saxony). Flame cake of Alsace type coated with vegetable garlic scarf, covered with cheese, lobes, onions and bacon crabs for €10.90. After the defying Munich weekend, the girl decided to welcome a sweet greeting in Saxony and had therefore decided to choose the homemade cheeses that are normally offered as dessert. Quark cheeses should be prepared according to their own recipe. They were mistaken with cranberries and were rolled into a lot of cinnamon sugar. To do this stuffed apple, or as we call it, rather coarse apple. Up there was another ball milk ice cream with vanilla flavor and whipped cream. The eyes radiated, all four were happy. Homemade cucumbers according to the in-house recipe with cranberries, rolled in cinnamon sugar, with stuffed apple, milk ice cream with vanilla flavor and whipped cream for 6,90 € And if you are good moody, you can also do something for digestion, and so we have ordered two doubles, each one beer brandy and a wheat brandy up to 6,40 €. Our conclusion: We left four moderate 95.40 euros in the Watzke and had to find out again that the Watzke, no matter what the four, is a Dresden institution and is not only very popular with the Dresden population. The own brewed beers are delicious, the kitchen offers hearty Saxon cuisine at moderate prices. We like to come back.
