Mud And Char - Downers Grove

Discovered this place today bc I was tired of Panera’s bagels lol They have a nice variety of bagel selections and I loveee that they smothered my bagel with cream cheese. Didn’t get any toppings but I might next time. Also got a strawberry banana smoothie with chia seeds and enjoyed it. I plan on coming back and trying different items since I live near by and work remote I may even camp out here for a work day

Had a DELICIOUS GF bagel breakfast sandwich and not many places offer a GF bagel, so I was thrilled to find this locally! Enjoyed the house dark roast drip coffee, too.

Support your local coffee shops!! This café has so much character. The food is delicious, the coffee is great, and the employees are always nice. I live right across the street(literally a minute away) and I put in my coffee order as I'm getting in the car and it only takes about two minutes to be ready. And as a queer person I love that there's an option to donate to Equality Downers Grove when ordering online. I will never go back to Starbucks!!

I ordered a coffee and they only have coconut milk (no oat milk). It didn't taste very good. My husband's Americano was also lackluster. I ordered a baked good as well, but it was dry and not very good. The service and atmosphere were excellent, but overall it was only ok at best (and pretty pricey).
