The rooms are comfortable, albeit a bit bland, but it is the location and staff that make it. All the staff were so friendly and made us feel so welcome during our stay. The dining room command terrific views across the bay. A great place to stay (albeit expensive).
Massively overpriced hotel, trading on its location and lack of competition. Thinks it's a star, but fails to deliver. The bar is in the corner of a cavernous room like a church hall, with no style or atmosphere, and the restaurant is little better, albeit the view is amazing. Food was good, service patchy, and as a group occupying a third of the rooms we were treated like second class citizens. How they can think they are a chic hotel as their Google entry states is a mystery. Rooms were actually very good.
Very friendly staff and great location with lovely views but ultimately very overpriced and fails to get some of the basics right (i.e. working shower) I don't normally take the time to write reviews but we stayed here last night and the experience wasn't great so felt I should warn others. First impressions when we arrived were that the hotel was nice, with great views, but not as grand as we were expecting considering the cost. The room was really large and well equipped, but again does not justify the per night price tag in my opinion We had a couple of drinks in the bar before dinner which was nice, but be warned there's currently nothing on draught and a bottle of beer will cost you Dinner was a disaster. We'd rang to book a table beforehand after looking at the menu online, but sadly the actual menu was very reduced and much higher priced. The head chef was off for personal reasons hence the reduced menu, which obviously can't be helped but I feel like we should have been told this either when we booked the table or at least when we checked in. We ended up going to bed without a meal because there was nothing on the reduced menu we liked and we'd both drank alcohol by this point so couldn't drive down into Loch Inver (it was too late/bad weather to walk) The following morning I attempted to have a shower but couldn't because the drain was either blocked or simply not big enough, and so the shower cubicle began to fill with water if ran for any longer than a minute. I'm sure this issue would have been solved if we'd stayed longer but we didn't have time to wait sadly On a plus note breakfast was very nice and was included in the We did negotiate a discount for the issues we had, but I don't think this was really significant enough considering the the poor experience we had and initial cost Essentially it's what would be a nice star hotel, except it thinks it's star and therefore tries to overcharge for everything.
THe view at this restaurant is beautiful and the food is very good. We had the duck and the cod, followed by a delightful chocolate fondant dessert. The young waiter and waitress were delightful and looked after us well.
My wife and i stayed here for 2 nights last week whilst we were touring and were delighted broadly with the hotel's offering, but unfortunately this did not include the food. we ate in the restaurant on the first night and we were both slightly disappointed with our mains-my wife's fish was bland and under seasoned and my risotto was OK. We did not eat here on the second night as we had a big lunch and shared a cheeseboard instead as we weren't hungry. on the plus side, we cannot thank Laura enough for her warmth of character and welcoming personality. When we mentioned the issues with the food on the second evening, she immediately deducted these items from our bill-we didn't aske her to do this, but she wanted us to be happy. She cant do enough for you and wants to make your stay as perfect as possible. I would urge the management of this hotel to please recognise the value of this terrific employee as she is amazing and an asset to this establishment. would also like to thank Angie on the front desk for her help and assistance throughout our stay.
