I wasn't impressed with the food at this restaurant. The mixed vegetable curry was overly greasy and tasted like a pre-packaged mix from Costco. The vegetable biryani also seemed to be a frozen Costco dish. Although the flavors were alright, they seemed more catered towards a Canadian palate.
We have given this place the benefit of the doubt and ordered three times as it is the only authentic Indian cuisine in Ladner. The first time was alright, but the second time we ordered the same dishes and they were completely different from the first time. Despite thinking it may have been an anomaly, we ordered the same dishes once again and they were completely different, and not even what we had ordered. The chicken curry, which was originally like a bhuna, was more like a generic curry soup this time. There were very little meat and a thin, oily sauce. The kokoshühnchen tasted more like a poorly prepared butter chicken, with no hint of coconut but rather like chicken swimming in tomato soup from a can. The quality was comparable to microwave meals. The samosa filling was delicious, but the pastry was limp and chewy. We are no longer willing to give this place a second or third chance. We will not be returning because every order seems to be a gamble, and the quality has declined to the point where we do not know what to expect anymore. Unfortunately, we had hoped for better.
Highly recommended. very good food. love it and her chai tea is soouo good. I will be a very common customer nif server it can be some food recommendations that will even be great!
I liked their samosas as they weren't too heavy and over fried but their eggplant bhartha was very salty and oily and the lamb palak was tough. Butter.chiicken kids liked but we can make that.ourselves. Not a repeat in my book.
