St. John's River Grille - DeLand

A really great home experience. The river view was great! Entertainment excellent! People work there friendly and nice. Small menu, but everything on it is very well done. Good drinks served a smile. 1. Visit great entertainment so well went back and 2. visit the Trivia WOW! DOMINIC CATTALANO was great. Next trip to FL we are back.

Hank was great, so kind. Burgers, pulled pig, Jambalaya and fried pimples were beautiful. Not too fat, which is unusual. Great view. Relaxing atmosphere on the river.

The food is excellent. The staff is wonderful. We met a chef named Nickolas Lebeau. He made our meals perfect. Looks like he worked well. The kids ask to go back every time we eat.

OVERVIEW JULI 3, 2022: I have to update my review. Mostly to make management aware. You got something good. Don't blow! The location is beautiful. The only one who likes it, unless you drive to Astor or Debary. My husband's parents were in town at the 30th anniversary of my sister-in-law. We love the river and our last experience was great so we wanted to bring them here for their last night. Seven adults and three children. Upon arrival at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday we were notified that they only made fried food and some other random menu items. So we decide to sit down anyway. We sat on the back open veranda that was beautiful. It was raining, but it was protected and we saw manates floating by and even a double rainbow. When we ordered our drinks, the waitress (which was very sweet) informs us that the kitchen might open again because another big party just came in. So obviously they make COULD other foods, they just wouldn't. So we ask if they can do the Gator Mac and cheese especially. The waitress went to ask the kitchen and they say... well, for $16, they brought fried Gator bites on a child's microwave Mac and cheese. We know because my other niece got the kids Mac and cheese and it was exactly the same. My niece was disappointed because it was so good. It should be in a creamy sauce with juicy peppers and onions. We ate the Gator from above and put the Mac and cheese in the children's table where he belonged... I'll say the wings were very good. My sister-in-law got the Paris Mule and it was literally only advertisers, none of the other mixers or liquors that it should have. So while we are likely to return because this is the only choice in the region, management should know and heed. To be a successful restaurant, you must be consistent. We all work hard for our money and we decided to dinate with you. Your location is beautiful! Don't blow! PRIOR REVIEW IN MAY 2022. We pulled in on our boat. So nice restaurant and outdoor area. We had Tessa as a waitress. She was amazing!!! So friendly and pleasant and really good, remembered everything!! Our fish sandwiches and wings were amazing. And also the Mermaid bucket. Sooooo good! Thank you, TESSA!!

We had the pleasure of having Tessa as our server and she was/is great. Always smiling and attentive. We have been back several times and always ask to be seated with her. The food is good also and most of the time it doesn?t take long to get it.
